Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington is playing the waiting game.
Washington was suspended for the 2014 campaign due to a violation of the league's substance abuse program and has another pending issue after a separate domestic abuse incident.
Washington has followed protocol to get back in good standing with the league but he's yet to be cleared and will be in line to face additional punishment once reinstated.
While he vows to be ready for this season, it's still unknown when Washington will return to action. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL have take hard stances on player suspensions of late and Washington's reputation as a repeat offender won't due him any favors.
The Cardinals linebacking corps struggled a year ago, so the team is rooting for a quick return.
