We've talked several times about the depth of the Arizona Cardinals' safety position this year and last week it was Rashad Johnson's turn in the spotlight. Johnson racked up five tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Johnson, along with Tyrann Mathieu, Deone Bucannon and Tony Jefferson have been taking turns putting forth dominating performances in the Cardinals' defensive backfield. This time it was Johnson who's output on Sunday helped Arizona dominate in Detroit by the tune of 42-17.
Johnson is often overlooked by the abovementioned safties along with CB Patrick Peterson but he's quietly asserted himself as a ball-hawking, impact player.
Johnson has 23 tackles on the season to go along with three interceptions and the sky appears to be the limit for him and the rest of the Cardinals secondary in 2015.
