Where Did That Come From: DE Dwight Freeney

The newest addition of the Arizona Cardinals defense – DE Dwight Freeney – made a big impact against the Baltimore Ravens.

No real surprise here, but DE Dwight Freeney takes this award thank to his first true impact performance in an Arizona Cardinals uniform.

In spot duty as a pass-rushing specialist, Freeney had two tackles and a sack while pressuring Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco on a handful of occasions late in Monday night’s game.

For being signed just a matter of weeks ago, Freeney has hit the ground running and looks to be a major contributor on the Cardinals’ defense in 2015.  That’s good news for Arizona as pure pass rushers – not coming from the blitz – was much needed to solidify the team’s defensive unit.

Freeney has racked up 112.5 sacks throughout his 14-year career and he appears to have something left into the tank to add to that total as we progress through the remainder of this year.
