Where Did That Come From: TE Troy Niklas

TE Troy Niklas came out of nowhere to score two touchdowns in the Arizona Cardinals 34-20 road win against the Cleveland Browns.

Arizona Cardinals TE Troy Niklas was in the right place at the right time on two difference occasions against the Cleveland Browns.  Niklas made the most of his two grabs as he reached paydirt on both of them.  Niklas’ two catches totaled only 12 yards but they equated to 12 points on the scoreboard.

QB Carson Palmer was tremendous – especially in the second half – completing 23 of 38 passes for 374 yards and four touchdowns.

What we’ve been most impressed with is Palmer’s ability to spread the ball around and Niklas is a prime example.  It seems like someone comes out of nowhere each week to have a big game –  whether it’s Niklas, Daniel Fells or whoever is up next.

Sunday against the Browns, Michael Floyd led the team with 106 receiving yards on four catches while Larry Fitzgerald chipped in with 84 yards on nine grabs.  Both Floyd and Fitzgerald scored a touchdown.  Meanwhile, J.J. Nelson filled in admirably for WR John Brown grabbing three catches for 70 yards and Jaron Brown even got involved with a deep 39-yard reception.

It’s unlikely that Niklas will turn into a consistent weapon for Palmer throughout the rest of the season, but it’s nice to know he’s capable when called upon.
