The start of the NFL regular season is just about five months away, but the Arizona Cardinals will be back on the football field in less than four months.
The Cardinals released their preseason schedule Monday afternoon and announced the four opponents they'll face in addition to the Dallas Cowboys, who they will take on in the NFL's annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio on August 3.
While 30 NFL teams will play four preseason games, the Cardinals and the Cowboys will play five as a result of participating in this year's Hall of Fame Game.
After opening the preseason at a neutral site against Dallas, Arizona will return home and square off with the Oakland Raiders at University of Phoenix Stadium during the first week of the NFL's preseason.
After hosting Oakland, Arizona will remain at home and host the Chicago Bears, marking the first preseason meeting between the franchises since 2010 and the Bears' first preseason visit to Arizona since 2003.
The Cardinals will finish out the preseason with consecutive road dates, and will travel to Atlanta and Denver.
Arizona's week three showdown with the Falcons will give the Cardinals the opportunity to play a game in the eastern time zone before the regular season begins. The matchup with Atlanta is also set to be the Falcons' grand opening of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Arizona will round out its preseason slate with its fifth and final game against the Denver Broncos, marking the 12th time in the last 14 seasons the two franchises have finished the preseason against one another.
Aside from the Hall of Fame Game on August 3, dates and times for the preseason games have not yet been announced. However, the windows in which the games will be played are set.
The Cardinals' matchup with the Raiders will take place between August 10-14, while their home date against the Bears will occur between August 17-21.
As for Arizona's two road dates, the team's battle with Atlanta will occur between August 24-27 before the team hits the road to take on Denver sometime between August 31-September 1.
