Cardinals Continue Restocking Roster

The Cardinals continue to finalize contracts that had been sitting in the queue while the ink dried on Larry Firtzgerald's new deal. The team announced today that defensive end Bo Schobel, defensive end Joe Tafoya and and wide receiver Jerheme Urban have signed new pacts. Restricted free agent Elton Brown also signed his offer.

The Cardinals keep filling out their depth chart after putting several players and agents on hold during Larry Fitzgerald's renegotiation. Four more contracts were announced today with more to come in the near future.

Defensive line coach Ron Aiken had a banner day as the team brought back Bo Schobel and Joe Tafoya. Schobel played in two games last year after joining the Cardinals late in the season. He has 45 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his four-year career.

Tafoya, who is entering his seventh season, comes off an impressive debut season with the Cardinals. He started seven games last season, tallying 20 tackles and a pair of sacks.

Receiver Jerheme Urban is fresh off the best season of his five-year career. He caught 22 passes for 329 yards and two TDs last season and could be the frontrunner to replace Bryant Johnson as the slot receiver.

Elton Brown returns to provide depth across the offensive line. The versatile Brown can play guard or tackle, starting five games at the latter position last season. For his career, he has appeared in 18 games with 14 starts.

Scobel and Brown signed one-year contracts while Tafoya and Urban re-upped for two years apiece.

Yesterday, the Cardinals re-signed receivers Ahmad Merritt and Sean Morey.
