Cards Prospect Q&A: Agile Interior Lineman

In Russ Grimm's first year in Arizona, he took an underachieving offensive line and helped it gel by season's end. GM Rod Graves hopes to give Grimm more to work with in his second season. AZRedReport.com's James Jones nabs an exclusive interview with one interior offensive lineman who could help fortify Arizona's front line.

Wake Forest center Steven Justice (6'4", 293 pounds) enters the NFL draft after a standout senior season. He started every game for a Demon Deacons team that allowed only 27 sacks, registering 65 knockdowns and 12 blocks that sprung TDs.

Justice was awarded the Atlantic Coast Conference's Jacobs Blocking Trophy, which is given to the conference's top lineman. He was also named first-team All-ACC.

Justice is just as impressive off the field as he is on it.

"I have met with many teams at the Combine and Senior Bowl and they all asked a lot of the same questions, basically wanting to know more about my character and upbringing," Justice said. "They all like that I have a real upbeat and positive attitude about things."

Justice has displayed great athleticism and quickness in getting on his blocks, as well awareness typically reserved for players with much more experience. Has worked a great deal on his technique and his ability to hit targets in space.

His offseason has included a rigorous workout regime designed to boost his draft stock and prepare him for life in the NFL.

"I had my Pro Day on March 25 and it went really good," he said. "I was able to better my three-cone time to 7.33 and that is something I was working on. Most of my other drills and workouts stayed the same as they were before."

Justice has been working on his conditioning, as well as increasing his size. He strives to silence the critics who say he lacks the strength to win at the point of attack.

"I have been in the gym a lot, trying to get bigger and stronger, because that has been one of the knocks on me throughout my career, that I wasn't big enough," he said. "I want to get to a good playing weight and be able to keep it there."

With the draft less then three weeks away, Justice is doing everything he can to prepare to go to work for his future employer.

"I have been running a lot, lifting and just trying to stay in shape so I can be the best I can be for whatever team takes me."
