Anthony Morelli Agrees to Terms with Arizona

Ken Whisenhunt said that the Cardinals would like to sign between 12-13 undrafted players, which they would like to solidify as soon as possible. And's Ed Thompson is reporting that Penn State quarterback Anthony Morelli has agreed to sign with the Cardinals as one those undrafted players.

Anthony Morelli is a fierce competitor, but you wouldn't know by his demeanor. He has a modest personality with a knack for putting his future career in perspective.

"I just try to handle the things I can take care of and move on," Morelli said when he was asked about which teams were indicating they'd take care of him.

Penn State didn't offer Morelli the most quarterback-friendly system, but he overcame the odds.

"It's tough," Morelli said. "I made the best of it. I was pretty successful. I went in with the right attitude and tried to make the best of my time there."

His senior year, the program decided to throw the ball a lot more, but Morelli thinks Penn State will go back to their old style that doesn't display big numbers for the signal-callers. He finished with 2,651 yards on 402 attempts his last year in college.

Former pro scout Tom Marino, who has 30 plus years in the league, is pretty high on Morelli as a project.

"He has all the tools you look for in a QB; an athletic body, very strong throwing arm and far better movement then I had expected, but is acutely under coached and unprepared for the job of being a professional QB.

Has a violent overhand delivery and when he's on his game has as much ability as anyone in the draft. Can make all the throws; out, dig, fade and comeback. Going to have to start from square one with this player, but has a big upside. A 6th - 7th round steal.
