Q&A with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

AZRedReport.com's Samantha Fillerup was one of the last reporters to interview Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie prior to the draft, when he claimed being draft by Arizona would be a "blessing." Now, Fillerup checks back in with the Cardinals' first-round pick to see if reality has met perception. Learn about Ro-Cro's goals, challenges and more.

Samantha Fillerup: Who on the Cardinals roster do you look forward to playing with?

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie: The whole defense and offense. They have some good guys.

SF: Who are you looking forward to playing against?

DRC: No one in particular. I am just looking forward to playing.

SF: What are your goals for your rookie season? What are you hoping to accomplish?

DRC: Just basically come in and establish myself in the league and organization.

SF: What do you think will be the biggest challenge playing at the professional level?

DRC: I would say all the meeting times you have to go to.

SF: What skills are you trying to improve?

DRC: I am trying to improve my strength and gain weight.

SF: How will you maintain your focus amid your new financial and social status?

DRC: Easily. That's not my main focus, money and fame. I just want to play football.

SF: What is the biggest challenge you have faced and how did you overcome it?

DRC: I would say the biggest challenge I faced was losing my cousin. He was like my brother. We did everything together growing up. It kinda hurt me when he died.

SF: Is there a specific player you mirror your play after?

DRC: No, ma'am. I never had a player I wanted to be like. I just work and do it on my own.

SF: How do you like 120 degrees in the shade?

DRC: I am from Florida, so I am used to the heat.
