Dusty Wittig: Who were your favorite teams and players growing up?

Thaddeus Coleman: I grew up in Chicago, so I have to say the Bears and also the Eagles. I really didn't have any favorite players growing up. In high school I wanted to be a quarterback, so I started to like Donovan McNabb and the Eagles.

DW: What is your favorite non-football activity?

TC: Playing basketball.

DW: At what point in your career did you know you had NFL potential?

TC: Probably my sophomore year and going into my junior year of college. I realized that I was gaining weight and getting bigger every year and I saw my game progressing. That's when I realized that I could be able to do it one day.

DW: What are some of your goals for the upcoming season?

TC: First and foremost, I just want to make the team. If I do make the team, then my goal is to be a backup and be ready to get in there and help the team in any way possible.

DW: How do you intend to go training camp and make this team?

TC: I have to progress and get better every day. I have to get the pads and helmet on and show them how aggressive I am and that I am not soft. I just have to get out there and show them that I know what I'm doing.

DW: Is there an upcoming game on the '08 schedule that you are looking forward to playing in particular?

TC: The first preseason game is the only game I'm concerned about right now.

DW: Is there a veteran on the team who has eased your transition from college ball?

TC: Levi Brown has helped us rookies a lot. He was a rookie last year and knows what it was like, so he has been helping us along.

DW: How are you adjusting to the weather?

TC: It is about the same as Mississippi. It has gotten really hot a couple days, but it's alright.

DW: What are you planning for your first NFL paycheck?

TC: I'm not sure yet, probably just get my mom something and get a new car. I'm not really thinking about it right now. I'm just trying to make the team.
