Five to Watch: Seattle at Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks both have a lot to play for on Sunday. But the Cardinals are stellar at home and won't go down without a fight. For the Cardinals, week 17 is a must win, as they need to regain their confidence lost from a lousy recent slump. For the Seahawks, they need to send Mike Holmgren out with a bang. Here is Jason Harris' five to watch.

WR Jerheme Urban

Urban is the teams fourth receiver but he has the size and awareness to start. With Pro Bowl wide receivers Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald seeing little or no action this week expect Urban to get plenty of looks. Boldin is questionable and may miss a second straight game with a shoulder injury while Larry Fitzgerald with be resting for the postseason. Any extra time Urban sees on the field this week should benefit the Cardinals in the playoffs. Urban should have a Fitzgerald like game if quarterback Kurt Warner can get on track.

Cardinals run game

The Cardinals may make one last attempt before the playoffs to pretend to run the football. The Cardinals rushing attack has been non existent, producing zero 100-yard rushers in seven weeks. No back even reach 50 yards in that span. Running backs Tim Hightower and J.J. Arrington have alternated as the team's top rusher as of late but the numbers have not been good.

Since his 109 yard game in week nine, Hightower has been the Cardinals top back with game highs of 22, 21, and 32. Arrington has finished with the team high in three games this season with games of 40, 10, and 23. Arrington had a season high eight carries for 40 yards in week 11 against Seattle. After sitting out last weekend, Arrington should be back and ready to make an impact.

TE Ben Patrick

More injuries are opening the door for the Cardinals depth to shine. Mid season free agent pick up Stephen Spach had been starting because of his strong blocking but now he's hurt. Opening day starter Patrick will be getting more reps. A receiving tight end, Patrick could prove to be a valuable weapon once again if the dangerous Cardinals passing offense gets rolling.

Pass defense

Where did it go? It hasn't been great all year but giving up touchdown after touchdown through the air is not what Cardinals fans have grown accustom to this season. The Cardinals have been torched by playoff bound teams in recent weeks. The Giants, Eagles, Vikings, and Patriots all had big games passing.

Newly acquired free agent linebacker Victor Hobson should add depth to a pass rush that has been banged up as of late. The front seven is going to have to get pressure on the quarterback this week if an equally banged up secondary is going to have a chance at shutting down the Seahawks passing game. Week 17 is no time to have defensives breakdown on film.

Cardinal Urgency

The Cardinals may not be playing for a spot in the playoffs but beating up on a Seattle Seahawks team in a divisional passing of the torch is still a game to get excited for. Expect the player's intensity to be up as the take on a Seahawks team that is playing better as of late. After losing two straight the Cardinals should bounce back in an attempt to right the ship before the playoffs. The Cardinals are at home and have not lost three straight all year. With the playoffs a week away the Cardinals can not afford to come out flat for a third straight week.
