Antony Becht (6-5, 280) entered the league as a first-round pick of the New York Jets (27th overall) in the 2000 NFL Draft. After playing for the Jets from 2000-04 he spent three seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the St. Louis Rams in 2008. Last season he started 11 of 16 games played to total 118 starts in 142 games played for his career. The former West Virginia Mountaineer has contributed to seven 1,000-yard rushers in his nine years and registered 178 receptions for 1,450 yards and 20 touchdowns. He earned Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie honors in 2000 and started 104 consecutive games from 2000-06.
Arizona had trouble finding a solid blocker at tight end last season and Becht is known as one of the better blocking tight ends in the NFL.
Donovan Raiola spent the last three weeks of the 2008 season on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad after signing with the team on December 10. He began last season with the St. Louis Rams, but was released following training camp on August 29. The brother of Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, Donovan (6-2, 293) originally entered the NFL with the Rams as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Wisconsin in 2006. He was released by St. Louis in 2006 and was re-signed in 2007 where he spent the final eight weeks of the season on their practice squad.
Raiola will get a chance to compete for playing time against third-year C Lyle Sendlein. However, a team source said to expect a center to be selected early in next month's draft.
Elton Brown (6-5, 332) completed his fourth season with the Cardinals, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2005 Draft out of Virginia. He has played both guard and tackle for Arizona and has appeared in 34 regular season games with 14 starts. In 2008, he appeared in all 16 regular season games and all four postseason contests.
Brown looks to be Arizona's top backup offensive lineman at this point and his versatility warranted the team's interest in re-signing him.
