AZ Gets LeSean McCoy in Scout Mock Draft

"With the 31st pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy." The Cardinals would welcome McCoy with open arms in Arizona if this is the case on draft day. McCoy was the third running back taken in's mock draft, behind Knowshon Moreno (first) and Chris Wells (second).

With the No. 31 overall pick, the Cardinals select… RB LeSean McCoy, Pittsburgh

It's no secret the Cardinals struggled on the ground last season. But they were impressed with themselves when their playoff run yielded as close to a 50-50 pass-rush ration as they've ever seen. The powers at be would like to see the trend continue. Thirty-year-old RB Edgerrin James has one foot (and an arm for that matter) out the door and Tim Hightower can't carry the load himself. Newly signed five-year vet Jason Wright will help bridge the gaps J.J. Arrington's departure created, but the Wright addition isn't enough.

The Cardinals would be amiss not to select a first-round back. McCoy boasts the versatility, character and promise to become a franchise back for Arizona. The only problem is, the Cardinals may have tangoed one too many times with his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
