Cody Brown (6-3, 244) was a unanimous All-Big East Conference first-team choice as a senior in 2008 after starting all 13 games at defensive end, collecting a career high 56 tackles (33 solos), 11 sacks and five forced fumbles. His 11 sacks were good for second in the Big East and also rank as the third highest single-season total in school history. His 16.5 tackles for loss as a senior also ranked second in the conference and tied for sixth in school history.
The Coral Springs, FL native finished his collegiate career by starting in 33 of the 42 games that he appeared, collecting 150 tackles (86 solos), 24 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 13 passes defensed.
To make room on the 80-man roster for Brown, the Cardinals have released CB Tony Davis, an undrafted rookie free agent out of Penn State University.
