Cardinals Close Training Camp Chapter

The Arizona Cardinals wrapped up their training camp on Thursday. Much was shown of the team who hoped to prove it can regain the glory of last year's phenomenal season. The past few days were very revealing for who will stay on the regular lineup, who will make the move to special teams, who will be assigned to the practice squad and who will be the No. 2 quarterback.

The Arizona Cardinals ended training camp much the way it began. The wide receivers looked solid as usual even with the absence of Steve Breaston. The abilities of Jerheme Urban, Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin look as concrete as ever. Urban was the main story in this year's training camp with his consistent ability to catch almost any pass thrown at him; his resolve in making sure every play he executed was done with excellence. Fitzgerald was also awesome as usual, being the favorite of the crowd and the media, with every catch getting instant applause and his prowess was back in force.

A side note is that Urban has full potential, along with Lance Long, to be pillars on the Cardinals as both have pulled their weight on the team, and both know how to play the game effectively with unwavering resolve. Both show they mean business and both are committed to making the team one to beat in the future.

On the quarterback end of things, the battle for the second string position intensified as Brian St. Pierre and Matt Leinart continued to vie for the spot. As the season actually progresses, Leinart and St. Pierre could find themselves sharing the No. 2 quarterback place as both have very different aspects of their ability to be a good relief for Kurt Warner. Though both know whoever gets the second string very well has the potential to gain the starter position when Warner decides to retire.

Over the course of camp much of the rust fell off the players and showed the golden boys that are the Arizona Cardinals. Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt showed everyone last season he has figured out the recipe to bring the team to greatness, this season he will only improve on it and take the Cardinals to Super Bowl victory.

The Arizona Cardinals' motto for this season is, "We Do This Together." If the team can set their own personal achievements aside and function as a single body on the field and in all they do they will be unstoppable. Much attention is being spotlighted on them to see if they can replicate the enormity of last year's success.

The question is not can they replicate the success but how much will they be able to do so. If they achieve the meaning behind their motto, they will do so with great force. The Arizona Cardinals are a solid unit this season. Their substance will lead to a repeat. There will be better results this time around. The camp is over and the season will continue to show the greatness that is the Arizona Cardinals. Godspeed.
