Week 14 Report Card: AZ Cardinals at SF 49ers

The Arizona Cardinals lost their chance to make a statement in last Monday night's game. Instead, they looked like the Cardinals team that somehow manages to throw away a good chance. But was every phase of the Cardinals game horrific? Here are this week's grades....

PASSING OFFENSE: D -- Kurt Warner threw for only 178 yards and was intercepted twice. The protection was poor. Warner was sacked four times and hit on numerous other occasions.

RUSHING OFFENSE: C -- The Cardinals averaged 4.7 yards a carry, and Beanie Wells was especially effective. But Wells and Tim Hightower each lost a fumble deep in 49ers territory.

RUSH DEFENSE: F -- Frank Gore gashed the Cardinals for 167 yards, averaging 6.7 a carry. Gore had runs of 36, 31 and 23 yards.

PASS DEFENSE: B -- The Cardinals intercepted Alex Smith twice, and the 49ers quarterback threw for only 144 yards. The Cardinals needed to put more pressure on him.

SPECIAL TEAMS: C -- The 49ers blocked an extra point, and K Neil Rackers struggled with a sore groin. P Ben Graham was solid but not great. The return games didn't produce.

COACHING: C -- The Cardinals blew a chance to clinch the NFC West by losing to the 49ers for the second time this season. Those are the only division losses the Cardinals have had over the past two seasons.
