Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt isn't attaching much significance to his team's failure to clinch the NFC West title on Monday in San Francisco.
The Cardinals still lead the division by two games with three left. They could clinch this week with a victory over Detroit and a 49ers loss at Philadelphia.
"I don't think clinching the division was ever that big of a thing," Whisenhunt said. "I think it was we were wanting to play against an opponent who beat us earlier this year, and it was on 'Monday Night Football.' We just lost our discipline, and that's something we can't do."
With remaining games against the Lions, Rams and Packers, the Cardinals don't have much reason to sweat. Even if the 49ers win their last three, the Cardinals can clinch by going 2-1.
Still, they were disappointed they didn't play better Monday night. They committed seven turnovers, including five fumbles, the second most in franchise history.
"Obviously, it was ugly," Whisenhunt said. "We're all disappointed and embarrassed with the outcome of the game."
--LT Mike Gandy left the game in the second half after aggravating a pelvic muscle injury. Gandy struggled in protection.
--S Matt Ware might be able to return this year after an MRI revealed no tear in his ACL, as was feared. Ware suffered the injury on the opening kickoff, and it's not believed he will need surgery.
--K Neil Rackers is struggling through a groin injury, and the Cardinals might have to bring in another kicker later in the week. Rackers has tried to play through it, but his kickoffs have lacked explosion, and a 48-yard field goal barely cleared the crossbar.
--WR Larry Fitzgerald tweeted on Tuesday that his right knee is sore but undamaged. Fitzgerald suffered the injury in the third quarter but returned to action. He was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday to make sure there is no damage.
--S Rashad Johnson, a rookie, will take injured Matt Ware's place in the team's dime coverage. Johnson hasn't developed as quickly as the team had hoped, but he will be forced into more action.
