Game Plan: GB Packers @ AZ Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals goals for Sunday's round-one playoff match against the Green Bay Packers focuses on several areas that have been addressed all year. This is a game that the Cardinals have prepared for since day one.

GAME PLAN: Offensively, the Cardinals likely will spread the field with receivers, trying to take advantage of Packers cornerbacks Tramon Williams and Jarrett Bush. With Al Harris out with an injury, Bush has become the nickel back, and the Cardinals have to like their matchups against him. The Cardinals also need to run the ball effectively out of that set in order to slow the outside rush. Defensively, the Cardinals must put some pressure on Aaron Rodgers. Left end Darnell Dockett needs to have a big game, and strong safety Adrian Wilson has to be effective with his blitzes.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH:

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald vs. Packers CB Charles Woodson.

Fitzgerald's average yards per catch was down about four yards this season, but he had 13 touchdown receptions, a career high. The Packers play more press coverage than most teams and might be more likely to use man coverage more often on Fitzgerald than most opponents.

Cardinals LT Jeremy Bridges vs. Packers OLB Clay Matthews.

A rookie, Matthews has 10 sacks this season. Left tackle is a huge question mark for the Cardinals, who lost Mike Gandy to a hernia two weeks ago. Bridges' performances have been uneven and he'll be tested severely on Sunday.

Cardinals DL Darnell Dockett vs. Packers RT Mark Tauscher.

Dockett is one of the NFL's most explosive linemen, with a great burst off the ball, and he's relentless in chasing down ball carriers. Tauscher is a crafty 10-year veteran who is steady.

INJURY IMPACT:

--WR Anquan Boldin suffered a left ankle sprain and left MCL sprain in the second half last week and likely will be questionable this week. If he can't play, Steve Breaston will start and Early Doucet will move up to the No. 3 role.

--FS Antrel Rolle missed last week's game with a bruised thigh and will be questionable for this week. Rookie Rashad Johnson is his backup and Hamza Abdullah, signed last week, is the fourth safety.

--CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie left last week's game in the first quarter with a knee contusion. The injury was less serious than first feared but DRC was still struggling with the injury at mid-week. If he can't play, Michael Adams, who is 5-8, will start. The Packers picked on him last week.

--TE Ben Patrick missed the past two games with a concussion but should be able to play against the Packers. He was held out last week as a precaution.

--WR Sean Morey is recovering from his second concussion of the season and has missed the past two games. He's a key special teams player and should be able to play against the Packers.

--FB Dan Kreider has missed two games with a neck injury. The Cardinals signed fullback Nehemiah Broughton off the Giants practice squad this week, an indication that Kreider might not be ready to play against the Packers.

--G Deuce Lutui left Wednesday's practice early because of back spasms. He is expected to be fine for Sunday's game.
