--The Arizona Cardinals were among just eight teams that attended Arkansas State's Pro Day to mostly watch DE Alex Carrington who is projected in the second or third round. Chris Steuber also reported that Chicago, Detroit, Green Bay, New England, New Orleans, New York Giants and St. Louis joined the Cardinals in scoping out the talent.
--The Cardinals were included in the 27 NFL teams that showed up to the Tennessee Pro Day. Steuber says, "The only teams not present were the 49ers, Bills, Dolphins, Saints and Vikings. Among the notables in attendance were Steelers Owner Dan Rooney, Jaguars Director of Player Personnel Terry McDonough, Redskins Director of Player Personnel Scott Campbell, Titans Director of College Scouting Mike Ackerley and Rams Assistant to the Head Coach/Football Operations Bruce Warwick.
--Easy guess, the Cardinals were at Pitt's Pro Day. Steuber confirmed it. The only teams not present were the Broncos, Dolphins and Rams.
--Arizona staff was also at Georgia's Pro Day today. The only teams not present were the Packers, Bills and Ravens.
--The Cardinals swung by the Middle Tennessee State Pro day. Twenty seven other teams joined them. Steuber says the primary target was DE/OLB Chris McCoy.
--Another 27 teams went to Virginia's Pro Day. Count Arizona among them. Don't count: JAX, TEN, SD, DAL and MIN.
--A source confirmed with Steuber that 28 NFL teams were at Penn State's Pro Day. The teams that did not attend were Carolina, Detroit, Kansas City and Minnesota.
--A source also told him that 13 teams attended West Virginia Pro Day. Teams present were: ARI, ATL, BAL, BUF, CAR, CLE, DAL, HOU, MIN, NO, PHI, PIT & SEA.
Where They Weren't
--Steuber says a source told him that 29 NFL teams were at the Fresno State Pro Day. The only teams not present were the Cardinals, the Cowboys and the Steelers. The Cardinals missed out on RB Ryan Matthews who reportedly had a heck of a showing.
--From Steuber's desk, "A source told me that 10 teams were at the Bowling Green Pro Day today; those teams were ATL, BAL, CLE, CIN, DET, IND, MIA, NYG, PIT & WAS. Bowling Green WR Freddie Barnes received the most attention, but ran just a 4.65 in the 40.
"Barnes (6-0, 212) caught 155 passes for 1,770 yards and 19 touchdowns this past season. He will likely be a mid-to-late round selection due to his speed. But he's often compared to Philadelphia Eagles WR Jason Avant; Barnes has tremendous hands."
--Steuber reported that 11 teams attended the Temple Pro Day. Those teams were: ATL, CAR, GB, IND, JAX, NYG, NYJ, PHI, PIT, SF & SEA.
---Steuber reported that eight teams went to Marshall's Pro Day, but he could only confirm five of the eight teams: Browns, Patriots, Eagles, Falcons and Panthers.
Special thanks to Steuber for all the great confirmations.
