BATTLE OF THE WEEK: CB Greg Toler continues to make a push to beat out Trumaine McBride for the right corner's job. Toler has looked more consistent in recent weeks, and it will be a surprise if he doesn't win the job by the start of the season.

OTHER BATTLE FRONTS: Reggie Wells and Deuce Lutui are in a tight competition at right guard. Both have played well in the preseason. NT Dan Williams is pushing Bryan Robinson and Gabe Watson. Watson is playing well and Robinson, 36, could be the odd man out when cuts are made.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: WR Stephen Williams, an undrafted rookie, continues to make a positive impression almost daily. He is fast, big and tough. The Cardinals appear to have made a steal by signing him out of Toledo.

ROOKIE REPORT: NT Dan Williams, first-round pick, is rounding into shape and plays the run well. He needs to develop some pass rush moves.

ILB Daryl Washington has displayed great speed and toughness. It's going to be tough to keep him off the field.

WR Andre Roberts, the third-round pick, continues to have trouble catching the ball and is now dealing with a shoulder injury. TE Jim Dray, the seventh-round pick, is starting to make a push. He's shown some nice receiving skills.

INJURY REPORT: WR Larry Fitzgerald (right MCL sprain) is expected to miss all of the preseason. The Cardinals are hoping he is available for the season opener. WR Early Doucet (abdominal strain) is expected to miss a couple of games in the preseason. His injury is not believed to be serious. LB Gerald Hayes (back) is on PUP. He underwent back surgery in early July and likely won't practice until early September at the earliest.

TE Ben Patrick (displaced kneecap) will miss a couple of weeks of work but is expected to return well before the regular season.

OLB O'Brien Schofield (knee) is on the non-football injury list. He is rehabbing from knee surgery in January.

ILB Reggie Walker (hamstring) has returned after missing a week of work but still missed Monday's game against the Titans.

WR Andre Roberts (shoulder) will miss a week after getting nicked up in Tennessee.
