Letter to the Butler

Dear Mr. Butler I know that you are not feeling well and I hope that things get better for you. I pray that all is well and that you get back with the Charger organization soon and help take this team to the Playoffs. That said…

I have my own little wish list, although I have almost forgiven you for letting Junior Seau go the way you did, I still believe in you and the things that you are doing. So since you are on rest right now you should have time to read my letter, since you wont be at Pro Days or studying film preparing for the Draft.

No. 1 on my wish List is a Huge DT in the mold of Warren Sapp, one with Speed and agility and a Bulls Strength. One who can not only stop the Run but can get in the backfield and disrupt a QB's Rhythm, a real Offensive Guard and Center's Nightmare, Kevin Williams or Dewayne Robertson come to mind. If you can not do that then I would like a Mammoth Offensive Tackle, one that has quick hands and feet that can help open holes for LaDainian Tomlinson To Run through, that when lined up next to Toniu Fonoti He makes Tackles and Defensive Ends Quake in their Boots and Linebackers wish it was not their turn on Blitzing assignments. Kwame Harris has the mean streak you could be looking for here. I wish to ask for a DB but all the Good ones, Terrance Newman, and Marcus Trufant should be gone before we get a Chance to pick in the 1st Round.

No. 2 on my list is just one player. Safety Troy Polamalu out of USC, He can hit like a linebacker, has 4.3 speed and also has good hands. He is fast enough to stick with Wide Receivers and strong enough to knock running backs on their Butts in run stopping situations. If you cannot get Polamalu a good DT or Cornerback will be ok, I am not picky.

I know it seems like I am asking much, but I want to win. I want to go to a game without hearing someone complaining about the Ticket Guarantee. I want to enjoy a game without some one moaning over the fact we are heading to another mid-season collapse. Just once I would like to finish with more then 8 wins in a season. I would like to know what it feels like to buy playoff tickets again, to know what other teams feel like when their fans talk to each other about the upcoming post season game and not who we are going to draft next year, or who we can get in free agency because we have nothing better to do in December.

I know you can do it, I have faith, you brought us the likes of LT, Drew Brees, Fonoti, Reche Caldwell, Ben Leber, Zeke Moreno and Carlos Polk, The Diamond in the Rough Eric Parker and the most surprising offensive lineman of the year in Jason Ball. You brought us free agents like Donnie Edwards, Ryan McNeil, David Boston, and Lorenzo Neil. I know that you will bring in the best player available, that you will get the best talent you can find and that Coach Marty Schottenhimer will mold them into a strong team. I just wanted to throw out a few names that I would like to see on my list. I hope you get better soon, the Super Bowl just wont be the same unless you're there leading the parade.

Sincerely yours,
Charger Fans
