AFC West Recap, Week 6

The bad news? The Chargers dropped another winnable game on Sunday. The good news: Every other team in the AFC West lost as well. Here is a team-by-team recap of the rest of the division.

Kansas City Chiefs (3-2)

Despite a 35-31 loss to the Houston Texans, QB Matt Cassel had his best game of the season, completing 20 of 29 passes and throwing for three touchdowns.

Dwayne Bowe, Buster Davis' old running mate at LSU, had a bounce-back game with 108 yards and two scores. Bowe was just one of eight players to catch a pass from Cassel, a list that included LB Mike Vrabel, who found the end zone too.

While Kansas City's offense flourished, the defense floundered. WR Andre Johnson and TE Owen Daniels carved up the Chiefs' secondary.

The Chiefs dropped both games on their two-game road trip but return home this week to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that has been outscored 96-19 in its three losses this season, including a 38-13 defeat in San Diego.

Denver Broncos (2-4)

Denver's rookies showed out on Sunday. The 2010 draft class managed two touchdowns, an interception and a forced fumble against the New York Jets before succumbing to a 24-20 loss.

Tim Tebow set the pace, taking a snap on first-and-goal at the 5-yard line and finding the end zone for his first career TD. WR Demaryius Thomas completed a second TD with a 17-yard strike from Kyle Orton.

Denver failed to hold off the Jets' fourth-quarter rally. The Broncos' defense is still a weak link, ranking No. 25 against the run and No. 15 versus the pass.

Denver has another home game this week as it hosts AFC West rival Oakland.

Oakland Raiders (2-4)

QB Jason Campbell, the hero in Oakland's Week 5 win over the Chargers, reverted to his old ways in San Francisco, going 8-of-21 for 83 yards and two INTs.

Michael Bush came back to earth and was held to 47 yards on 20 carries, essentially neutering the Raiders' offense.

The good news for the Raiders is they have a chance to go 2-0 in the division as they take on the Broncos at Invesco Field in Week 7.
