Chargers No. 9 in Post-Draft Rankings

The San Diego Chargers have enjoyed a strong start to the offseason, re-tooling their defense via the draft and the pick-up of Bob Sanders. Because of that, the team cracked the top-10 of the Scout.com post-draft power rankings despite missing the playoffs a season ago.

The Chargers barely cracked the top-10, sneaking in two spots ahead of the reigning AFC West champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

San Diego is a polarizing team, coming off a season in which it boasted the No. 1 ranked offense and defense yet found innovative ways to consistently give away games. Because of that, one publisher ranked the Chargers as low as No. 16, while another had them in the top-five.

The publishers seem to believe the Chargers and Chiefs will duke it out for the division crown again in 2011. While San Diego and Kansas City rank in the top-12 (12 teams qualify for the postseason), the Oakland Raiders are all the way down at No. 20 and the Denver Broncos come in at No. 30. Apparently, voters were not swayed by Oakland's 6-0 division record or Denver's development of Tim Tebow.
