Kassim Osgood Snatched Up

Kassim Osgood signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent today. The 6-5 SDSU product preferred to stay local after surprisingly going undrafted in the 2003 NFL Draft.

Kassim Osgood was a Cal-Poly transfer to SDSU and was awarded All-Conference honors last season catching 108 passes for 1,552 yards with 8 scores. Former a D-IAA All-American and set an NCAA record with 376 receiving yards in a single game.

Osgood originally began his college career as a defensive back.

Osgood had a private workout for the Chargers a few weeks back and ran impressive times after disappointing at the combines.

"The Chargers had me in 4.37 and Buffalo in 4.38," said Osgood. "I don't think the 40 has anything to do with football. It's just something to rank everybody."

Osgood was considered a 5th round draft pick at the latest by both, but instead his teammate who many had ranked as the undrafted free agent, JR Tolver went to Miami in the 5th.
