Kris Dielman a 6-foot-3, 312-pound defensive tackle was signed by the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Indiana.
"I'm happy and I'm upset," Dielman said. "I'm glad someone wanted me, but I'm pretty mad nobody else trusted my ankle."
Dielman, a defensive tackle, underwent surgery on a ruptured tendon in his ankle over the winter. Dielman, a two-time honorable mention All-Big Ten selection, figures that scared off a number of potential suitors.
"It's up to me now," Dielman said. "I've got to prove myself again. I feel like I'm going into a pretty good situation. San Diego runs the exact same defense we ran (at Indiana) -- they even use the same terminology we do. I'm excited that I've found a good spot for himself."
"Just for the record, I warm-up with 325 pounds," Dielman said. "I bench press 470 pounds."
