Youngstown RB P.J. Mays Added

PJ Mays was signed by the San Diego Chargers on May 19th, 2003 as an undrafted free agent out of Youngstown State University.

PJ Mays, 5-9, 222, is a rookie from Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio where he rushed for 3,374 yards and 41 touchdowns during his career. He was a second-team Associated Press All-America selection following his senior season and a two-time All-Gateway Conference selection following his junior and senior seasons. Mayes' 41 touchdowns set a conference record. He was named the conference's offensive player of the year following his junior season in 2001 when he rushed for 1,446 yards and 21 scores.

Mayes began his collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a spot on Conference USA's All-Freshman team in 1999. Following his freshman season, Mayes decided to return home and transferred to Youngstown State.
