Ryan Switzer talks visit

Ryan Switzer, a junior prospect from Charleston, West Virginia, made the three and a half hour journey south on Saturday to Winston-Salem to see the Demon Deacons take on Florida State. Switzer, accompanied by his father and teammate Dustin Crouser, left impressed with what he saw at BB&T Field.

"It went real well," said Ryan Switzer. "They got the 'W'. They look like a team on the way up. The offense put on a good show. (Tanner) Price was very impressive. He looked poised and spread the ball around well. FSU had no answer."

Switzer attended camps this past summer at Wake Forest and Florida State with each extending an offer. The big win over their ACC Atlantic-rival could pay big dividends in recruiting the 5-foot-11, 170 pound slot receiver.

"I spoke to Coach (Lonnie) Galloway a ton," said Switzer. "He took me out on the field and introduced me to Chris Givens, and we talked for awhile. I also spoke with Coach (Billy) Mitchell and Coach (Tim) Billings. The coaches are all nice people. I love Coach Galloway. We're getting a lot closer."

Switzer, who plays running back at George Washington High School, has 160 yards on the ground and two touchdowns the previous night in a 39-20 win over Spring Valley in Huntington. He also added 40 receiving yards to put him at his average of 200 all-purpose yards per game. The Switzers then got up early for the trip to North Carolina.

"My Dad loved it up there," Switzer said. "He has most of his family living in the area. He really likes the coaching staff as well, especially when they told him they want to throw me in there as a freshman."

The Switzers plan on making a return visit to Wake Forest on November 5th when the Demon Deacons take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
