New England Patriots
2013 draft picks:
1st round (29), 2(59), 3(91), 7 (226, 235)

The Patriots were active this off-season and it seemed like they swapped out some players like Wes Welker for Danny Amendola, Brandon Lloyd for Donald Jones, Leon Washington for Danny Woodhead.

New England has also added to their roster players like wide receiver Michael Jenkins, offensive tackle Will Svitek, defensive tackles Tommy Kelly and Armond Armstead and safety Adrian Wilson. They also lost safety Patrick Chung, fullback Spencer Larsen and guard Donald Thomas in free agency.

Draft Needs
1) Wide Receiver
There will be transition to the Pats offense, particularly at receiver, where there will be a huge overhaul when it's said and done. With their first pick New England is in prime position to take one of the top rated wideouts but it's very unlikely Bill Belichick does that. In fact, they will either trade out of that spot to garner more picks or use that selection on another position. A little bit of youth and speed for Tom Brady and the New England offense would be nice. The question is who are the targeting and where? It would be to likely be a guy they deem as ready to play now rather than develop.

2) Defensive Tackle
New England would like to find a tackle that can get after the passer a little bit. Bringing in Armstead from the CFL helps but they could use another. They will certainly have their share to pick from with that first pick to their second pick. Jesse Williams, Johnathan Hankins, and Kanwaan Short are three names to watch for.

3) Cornerback
Re-signing Aqib Talib was big for the Patriots secondary. But they still have to land a good one in this draft at this position. Cornerback could very well be the spot they address with their first pick. They could be hoping a guy like Desmond Trufant falls to No. 29 but chances are not good that he will still be around. After Trufant there's a handful of corners that could come off the board pretty quickly in the late first, early second round. In fact, I expect a run at cornerback at some point in that part of the draft.

4) Defensive End
It's a little surprising that New England didn't go this route in free agency. They tried but things just didn't work out. Again, they could address this position with one of their top three picks. There are plenty of ends that could fall to them in rounds two or three.

5) Offensive Guard
They have a good offensive line in New England but they would love to add some depth. It may be tough to do with so few picks in this draft. That is why trading out of the top spot is so appealing for the Patriots, as they could possibly pick up an addition selection or two.
