Senior Bowl - North Evals Day Three

Here are some North Evals for day three of the Senior Bowl, including offensive tackle Zack Martin, quarterbacks Tajh Boyd and Logan Thomas, and linebacker Christian Kirksey.

Tajh Boyd (QB) Clemson
Boyd threw the ball better today than yesterday. His best throw of the day occurred during 11 on 11 when he hit Kain Colter (Northwestern) on a deep go route, showing great touch. Boyd has struggled with timing and rhythm with his North teammates. He seemed late on throws in coverage. He does posses a good arm but just didn't throw with much consistency this week. He checked in at 6-0 ¾, 222-pounds, 9 3/8 hand size, 30 ½ arm length and 75 ½ wing span.

Deone Bucannon (S) Washington State
Bucannon was solid but not spectacular. He has a good build and is long. We know the guy can hit and it was good to see what he can do in coverage from his safety position. Bucannon is fluid and smooth and showed some range in the secondary. He checked in at 6-0 7/8, 216-pounds, 9 ½ hand length, 31 ¾ arm length and 78 wing span.

Shaquelle Evans (WR) UCLA
Evans made the catch of the day on Wednesday with a beautiful one handed grab in one on ones. He has some size to him and showed he can be a physical wide receiver. I also like the way he snatches the ball out of the air rather than letting it get to his body. He didn't seem to fight the ball in the two days I saw him. He checked in at 6-0 ¾, 210-pounds, 9 3/8 hand size, 31 7/8 arm length and 76 ¾ wing span.

Christian Kirksey (LB) Iowa
Kirksey quietly had two solid days of practice on Tuesday and Wednesday. He's a physical linebacker in the middle that blew up some offensive players in the one on one drills. It was also impressive to see him take on and get off blocks as well as playing inside-out versus the run. He checked in at 6-1 ¾, 234-pounds, 8 ¾ hand size, 32 3/8 arm length and 78 wing span.

Nevin Lawson (CB) Utah State
Lawson was impressive at the East/West Shrine Game last week and he has been good again this wek in Mobile. He's not the biggest cornerback out here but he showed good cover skills. Lawson can really turn his hips and run. He checked in at 5-9 7/8, 184-pounds, 8 7/8 hand size, 31 ¾ arm length and 75 7/8 wing span.

Zack Martin (OT) Notre Dame
I thought Martin had a really good Wednesday in practice. He did well playing offensive tackle and guard, showing his versatility. He's tough and very physical in the run game. He can drive people off the ball. On one play he knocked defensive tackle DaQuan Jones (Penn State) three yards back and then on his butt. In pass pro he showed a good base, the ability to slide his feet and mirror defensive ends. He checked in at 6-4 ¼, 305-pounds, 9 ¾ hand size, 32 ¼ arm length and 76 7/8 wing span.

Cyril Richardson (OG) Baylor
This is a big cat at offensive guard who can move for a guy 340-plus. He gets off the ball well and is strong at the point of attack. Richardson also did well in pass pro and has good length for an inside guy. He checked in at 6-4 4/10, 343-pounds, 9 ¾ hand size, 33 7/8 arm length and 81 1/8 wing span.

Logan Thomas (QB) Virginia Tech
Thomas looks like Terrelle Pryor with a better arm. This week he was been inconsistent and erratic throwing the football. While he does posses a very good arm, he didn't show any anticipation or rhythm with his wide receivers. He was late on his passes, which narrows the window, making throws more difficult. He's a big athlete with a big arm who needs time to develop. He checked in at 6-5 6/10, 250-pounds, 10 ¾ hand size, 33 arm length, and 79 ¾ wing span.
