Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett is Hawaii bound, as it was announced today that Verrett, a first alternate for the 2016 Pro Bowl, will replace injured Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis in Hawaii.
Verrett was the team leader in interceptions (3) during the 2015 season and scored his first NFL touchdown in November, when he intercepted a pass off Bears' quarterback Jay Cutler and ran it back 68 yards for the score. He stood strong against veteran wideouts like Antonio Brown and Golden Tate, who he limited to just four catches for 24 yards when the Chargers played the Detroit Lions in Week One.
This will be Verrett's first Pro Bowl. The 5-10, 188-pound California native was a first-round draft pick for San Diego in 2014.
