Tim Baker, who had an excellent day receiving lines up at the line of scrimmage. On this particular play he made a double move to beat his man, Drayton Florence, to the outside and came down with the reception. David Boston lines up opposite Drayton Florence in Friday morning practice in Carson. Florence had been elevated to the first team defense today and word after practice has Florence ahead of anyone else, including Sammy Davis and Tay Cody, for the starting cornerback position. (Denis Savage/Chargers Update) Ryan McNeil and Kwamie Lassiter huddle to talk about today's practice. McNeil and Lassiter are expected to provide leadership to a youthful secondary in San Diego this season and it is essential that they remain on the same page in their teachings. Hanik Milligan prepares to tackle Cedric Henry as the secondary runs tackling drills. Any poor attempts at a tackle meant the tackler would have to repeat the exercise. The coaches hope this will breed good work ethic and solid tackling skills all the time. Milligan was asked to redo the exercise once on the day. (Denis Savage/Chargers Update) Ben Leber reacts to Jesse Chatman sneaking out of the backfield and into the flat. Leber would meet the task perfectly and the pass would go elsewhere.
