Former Chargers RB Donald Brown agrees to deal with Patriots

The ex-Colt, ex-Charger is headed to New England.

Former Chargers running back Donald Brown found a new home in the NFL Wednesday, agreeing to terms on a contract with the Patriots.


The 28-year old first-round draft pick (2009, by the Colts) spent the last two seasons in San Diego. In 2015, he played in 10 games, ending the season with 229 rushing yards, 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Brown was limited in carries behind a running back corps that included Danny Woodhead, Ryan Mathews and Melvin Gordon.

The 5-10, 207-pound running back has 3,895 career yards and 20 touchdowns in his seven NFL seasons.
