Breaking down AFC West free agent signings

A look around the division.

Here's a quick recap of some of the big moves made around the AFC West in free agency:

**San Diego Chargers

The Chargers signed cornerback Casey Hayward, adding the veteran to a defensive backs group that includes Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers. Tight end Ladarius Green and Eric Weddle left town, but San Diego re-signed offensive lineman Joe Barksdale and tight end Antonio Gates, and picked up wide receiver Travis Benjamin and a big guy to clog the middle on defense with tackle Brandon Mebane.

**Denver Broncos.

Bye bye, Brock Osweiler. Hello, Mark Sanchez?!

Welcome back, Von Miller.

(Enough said.)

**Oakland Raiders

The Raiders were aggressive in free agency, signing cornerback Sean Smith and pass rusher Bruce Irvin to their already physical defense. They also re-signed left tackle Donald Penn and added Kelechi Osemele to shore up the offensive line.

**Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs retained Jaye Howard, Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali, and signed right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, but also lost CB Sean Smith to a division rival.
