Well there I was once again in Oakland territory. For the 4th year in a row I headed north to the vaunted Oakland Coliseum, otherwise know as the home of the Raider nation. Don't ask me why I subject myself to the taunting, to the rhythmic r-a-i-d-e-r-s chant, and to the false hopes that we will actually win a game on the road against the defending AFC West champs.

I will be the first to admit that the Chargers had no business even thinking about winning this game on the road with so many starters missing from the lineup. But, I'll also be the first one to tell you that when you're up on a team by 14 points with 5:59 remaining in regulation, you better do whatever it takes to finish off your opponent. Step on their throat, choke em' out, punish your man until the whistle blows.

Yet I saw none of this at the end of the game.

Wasted, was one of the most brilliant displays of running that I have ever witnessed! You knew the Bolts were going to have to run the ball effectively today to have a chance; however, the Raider defense could do nothing to stop LT. He ran behind an offensive line that should have been offensive, but on this day, they were up to the task. It takes a special kind of back to average 6.7 yards a carry. But when that back is putting up those numbers with starting wide receivers that are all undrafted free agents, he might as well have an "S" on his chest!

Now, I am sure that we are going to hear all about how much more this team improved with this loss, but I don't want to hear it. You know what you can do with that rah rah B.S.

I apologize if I have offended anyone.

Actually, I don't. I take that apology right back. Because when you have this kind of opportunity and you don't take advantage of it, someone needs to be held accountable.

I'm talking about the defense. The coaches and the players need to respond in this type of situation. And we didn't. Once again we fell flat on our collective face.

How many wide open touchdowns off a simple play action fake are we going to surrender this year?

Who can you blame it on? Let's start with the absolute lack of a pass rush. I'm talking to you Marcellus. I love the charisma, and I love the talk, but if you are injured, you are doing this team no good. Bring in some fresh meat Marty! We might as well get a look at everyone because we are headed no where fast. 0-4 to start our push season sure makes it interesting now doesn't it?

Just once I would love to see this team finish an opponent when we have them down. Instead, I get to listen to drunken raiduh fans brag about their glorious comeback on the flight home. Average raiduh fan don't know or care that the Bolts were playing with a bunch of scrubs out there today. They just know and care that once again their black and silver rose to the challenge and came away victorious.

The Chargers had a chance today. They had a chance to put some serious doubts into this bitter rival's heart and they let it slip through their fingers. Who knows what kind of fate may have been waiting for the 3-time defending champs had they gone to 1-3. Until the Bolts can develop a killer instinct, we will never know….
