Arizona at Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh is reeling offensively and there are rumbles that Bill Cowher's message has worn thin in the Steel City. But they can certainly put it together long enough against the Cardinals, right? Right? Arizona in a slight upset.
Atlanta at N.Y. Giants
Dan Reeves benched his entire secondary, called out Michael Vick, and now has the insufferable Deion Sanders campaigning for his job. Things are unravelling faster than a ball of yarn in a hurricane in Atlanta. Giants should win easily.
Chicago at Detroit
Didn't these guys just play each other? This time, I really think Detroit will win.
Cleveland at Kansas City
The Chiefs looked prime for a stinker, until they dismantled Buffalo in front of a nationwide audience. I have a feeling this team will go a little while longer before they look vulnerable. The Chiefs will win.
Houston at Cincinnati
This is perhaps the hardest game of the day to choose. Only because both teams have looked like they were turning the corner one week, and regressing back to form the next. I'll go with the Bengals because of that improving defense.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville
The Jags have never beaten the Colts in their brief history as division rivals (0-5), and they won't this week. Colts win big.
Miami at Tennessee
Miami had fits with Colts end Dwight Freeney last week who had three sacks and two forced fumblesand now get Jevon Kearse. The Titans have been tough on the run ranking second in the NFL and Ricky Williams hasn't been himself lately. It could be a long day for Dolphin fans. Titans win.
Seattle at Washington
Steve Spurrier's spread formation is making life miserable for his QB Patrick Ramsey who has been sacked a league high 29 times. I look for Ray Rhodes and the Seattle defense to take advantage of that suspect Redskin offensive line. Seattle stays hot with a win.
Tampa Bay at Carolina
The last time these two teams met, it took a blocked PAT for the Panthers to take the game away from the Bucs. I think it will take more than that this time around. Going with the Bucs to win.
Minnesota at San Diego
The Vikings come to town having lost two straight home games after giving up 901 yards of offense in both losses. Luckily for them, they get the Chargers who probably won't gain that much this season. Vikings in a blowout.
Buffalo at Dallas
The bye week couldn't have come at a better time for the Bills who are playing their first game since their embarrassing loss against the Chiefs. Unfortunately, they get the surprising Dallas Cowboys who have already surpassed their win total of a year ago. The Bills, on the road, have been outscored 68-8. Not a good sign. The Cowboys will win.
N.Y. Jets at Oakland
How did the Raiders get so bad so fast? This is an incredibly staggering fall from grace. These are the defending AFC Champs? We all knew that they were old, but EVERYONE looks like they've lost three steps, even the supposed young risers. The Jets will continue the Raiders fall.
ESPN Sunday Night Football
Baltimore at St. Louis
As soon as the Rams look like they've return to the upper echelon of the NFC, they stink up the joint in San Francisco looking out of sync and mismanaged on offense. So what happens now? Well, for starters, the #1 offense in the NFL gets Marshall Faulk back. Meanwhile, the always tough Ravens defense will get their toughest test yet. They'll have to play keep away on offense by running Jamal Lewis left, right, and up the middle and hope that their defense can shut down the Greatest Show on Turf. My pick are the Rams at home on the speedy turf.
ABC Monday Night Football
Philadelphia at Green Bay
It should be a cold one in Lambeau Field this Monday, and that is the way Brett Favre likes it. He is a remarkable 29-0 in the regular season in freezing temperatures. The Eagles look like they've finally gotten it together after their horrendous start and are just a game out of first in the NFC East. This is a tough game to call since I'm not sure which version of both teams will show up, but I'm picking the Packers to win.
