Dr. J's NFL Outlook for Week 13

Last Week: (12-4)
Season Totals: (110-66)

May your holiday weekend be a fulfilling one. Full of turkey, stuffing, cornbread, pumpkin pie...

Thanksgiving Day, November 27th
Green Bay at Detroit
This will be the 17th Thanksgiving Day meeting between these two teams and an important one for the Packers who need the win to stay within striking distance of the Vikings in the NFC North. I'm picking the Packers to win.

Miami at Dallas

The last time these teams met on Thanksgiving Day was 1993, you will remember it better as the Leon Lett blooper game. Hopefully, the Dolphins will leave the pumpkin colored jerseys at home. I'm picking the Cowboys and their very good defense to give Ricky Williams fits.

Sunday, November 30th
Arizona at Chicago
It will be Kordell Stewart behind center again for the Bears, but it's a good thing. Really! Picking the Bears at home.

Atlanta at Houston

Michael Vick is still doubtful and now Warrick Dunn could be out with a foot injury. The bad luck just keeps coming in Atlanta this season. Houston is the pick.

Buffalo at N.Y. Giants

Tiki Barber keeps fumbling and Kerry Collins can't put a complete game together. Meanwhile, the Bills struggles on offense are well documented, this past Sunday not withstanding. Giants win.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh

The Bengals have won six of eight and are looking to get rid of all of their demons. Could they really be talking playoffs in Cincinnati? Wow...wonder what that's like? Bengals stay hot with a win.

Minnesota at St. Louis

This could be a game that gets into the stratosphere point wise. The Vikings have the #1 offense and the Rams the 6th. The Rams are the pick.

New England at Indianapolis

This is the game of the day. It will be Bill Belichick's kinetic defense against Peyton Manning and the return of a healthy Marvin Harrison. I'm going with the red hot Patriots to win their 8th straight.

Philadelphia at Carolina

The last time the Eagles were this hot was 1980 in their lone Super Bowl season. A once slumping Donovan McNabb has gone 93-of-142 passes for 1,224 yards and six TDs in the last five games. But the Eagles will be facing one of the league's best defenses with a injury riddled o-line. Still, I'm picking the Eagles to match their best streak in history and win their eight straight.

San Francisco at Baltimore

The 49ers slim playoff hopes are on the line. In front of them is a ticked off Ravens defense that despite winning last week, was torched for 426 yards and 5TD passes. Going with the Ravens.

New Orleans at Washington

Steve Spurrier contemplated not joining his team on the flight back from Miami. Rumors are that Dan Snyder already has his replacement ready to go at the end of the season. Mistakes all around in Washington. Saints win.

Cleveland at Seattle

Seattle has yet to lose at home this season (6-0) and nothing will change on Sunday. Seattle is the pick.

Denver at Oakland

So much for hot starts. The Broncos are just 2-5 since starting the season 4-0 and are looking up at the Wild Card race. The Raiders have played better with Rick Mirer at the helm, but one more loss will give the Raiders their first losing season since they went 4-12 in 1997. I'm picking the Raiders to beat the Broncos.

Kansas City at San Diego

Is there a bigger gimmie than this one this week? The Chargers have a way of making any QB look like a superstar and while Trent Green isn't a superstar, he isn't a scrub either. The Chiefs will torch the Chargers.

ESPN Sunday Night Football
Tampa Bay at Jacksonville
If the Buccaneers have to win outright to continue their title defense, they can thank the schedule makers. They play 4 sub .500 teams before ending the year against Tennessee who could be in a "rest their starters" mode by then. First on the list, the hapless Jags. Buccaneers in a rout.

ABC Monday Night Football, December 1st
Tennessee at N.Y. Jets
Steve McNair is listed as questionable for the MNF game, but it'll take more than that to sit down the league's MVP thus far. Titans will win.
