Dr. J's NFL Power Rankings Week 13

The BCS has reared its ugly head again. Cal gets robbed of the Rose Bowl and Auburn's 12-0 is apparently not as good as USC's and Oklahoma's. Since when did big time college football become rhythmic gymnastics?

1) Pittsburgh (11-1)
Last Week: 1st, Defeated Jacksonville 17-16
Ben Roethlisberger drives the Steelers down the field with ease. Someone check if he's not Dan Marino is disguise.

2) New England (11-1)
Last week: 2nd, Defeated Cleveland 42-15
Patriots take back opening kickoff for a TD and essentially end the game for the Browns.

3) Philadelphia (11-1)
Last Week: 3rd, Defeated Green Bay 47-17
Eagles show just how much better they are than any team in the NFC.

4) Indianapolis (9-3)
Last Week: 4th, Defeated Tennessee 51-24
44 TD passes and counting for Peyton Manning. At this rate, he'll have 60 at season's end.

5) San Diego (9-3)
Last Week: 5th, Defeated Denver 20-17
Chargers defense bails out offense on a sloppy day in a rainy San Diego.

6) NY Jets (9-3)
Last Week: 10th, Defeated Houston 29-7
Isn't it strange to see a New York team winning but not the talk of the NFL?

7) Atlanta (9-3)
Last Week: 6th, Lost to Tampa Bay 27-0
Atlanta has actually given up more points (242) than they have scored (232).

8) Green Bay (7-5)
Last Week: 7th, Lost to Philadelphia 47-17
The biggest loss for the Packers since Brett Favre joined them in 1992.

9) Minnesota (7-5)
Last Week: 8th, Lost to Chicago 24-14
Randy Moss taunts the Bears before the game but team pays for it in the end.

10) Baltimore (7-5)
Last Week: 9th, Lost to Cincinnati 27-26
Vaunted Ravens defense gives up 24 points in the 4th quarter and hurt their playoff chances.

11) Denver (7-5)
Last week: 11th, Lost to San Diego 20-17
Broncos play great defense, but Jake Plummer's 4th interception of the day is the killer.

12) Jacksonville (6-6)
Last Week: 12th, Lost to Pittsburgh 17-16
Josh Scobee, you nailed it, but just pushed it right…

13) St. Louis (6-6)
Last Week: 14th, Defeated San Francisco 16-6
With Marc Bulger and Marshall Faulk out, the Rams lean on a veteran (Chris Chandler) and a rookie (Stephen Jackson).

14) Cincinnati (6-6)
Last Week: 15th, Defeated Baltimore 27-26
Don't look now, but the Bengals are just a game out of the playoff hunt.

15) Buffalo (6-6)
Last Week: 16th, Defeated Miami 42-32
Drew Bledsoe has a big game and keeps the Bills playoff chances alive.

16) Carolina (5-7)
Last week: 17th, Defeated New Orleans 32-21
At the midway point, the defending NFC Champions were 1-7. Unbelievably, they are still in the playoff hunt.

17) Tampa Bay (5-7)
Last Week: 19th, Defeated Atlanta 27-0
Derrick Brooks is all over the place in a decisive victory.

18) Kansas City (4-8)
Last week: 20th, Defeated Oakland 34-27
Larry Johnson stops pouting for a week and helps break the Chiefs' four game losing streak.

19) Houston (5-7)
Last Week: 13th, Lost to NY Jets 29-7
Young team still failing to make the plays when necessary.

20) Dallas (5-7)
Last week: 24th, Defeated Seattle 43-39
Maybe Julius Jones wasn't such a bad pick after all, eh Cowboy fans?

21) Chicago (5-7)
Last Week: 25th, Defeated Minnesota 24-14
Bears may have found someone to throw the ball while Rex Grossman heals, Chad Hutchinson.

22) Seattle (6-6)
Last Week: 18th, Lost to Dallas 43-39
You give up two TD's in 1:45? Unbelievable…

23) Detroit (5-7)
Last Week: 27th, Defeated Arizona 26-12
Rookie Kevin Jones rushes for 196 yards, just a yard shy of the team rookie record.

24) Oakland (4-8)
Last Week: 22nd, Lost to Kansas City 34-27
Raiders know how to gloat but apparently can't tell how much time is left on the clock.

25) Tennessee (4-8)
Last Week: 23rd, Lost to Indianapolis 51-24
Titans' coach Jeff Fisher figures that the best way to stop the Colts offense is to simply not give them the ball.

26) Washington (4-8)
Last Week: 30th, Defeated NY Giants 31-7
Steady and boring wins the race for the point scoring challenged Redskins.

27) NY Giants (5-7)
Last Week: 21st, Lost to Washington 31-7
Giants anemic offense only gains 145 yards for the game and converts only one 3rd down.

28) Arizona (4-8)
Last Week: 26th, Lost to Detroit 26-12
Think that Denny Green is thinking again about passing on Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger?

29) New Orleans (4-8)
Last Week: 28th, Lost to Carolina 32-21
The Saints dropped three passes, fumbled twice and failed to gain a first down or cross midfield all in their first five possessions.

30) Cleveland (3-9)
Last Week: 29th, Lost to New England 42-15
The Browns in two weeks have given up 100 points…ouch!

31) Miami (2-10)
Last Week: 31st, Lost to Buffalo 42-32
The good, A.J. Feeley posts career highs in passing yards (303) and pass attempts (51.) The bad, he also throws a career high five interceptions.

32) San Francisco (1-11)
Last Week: 32nd, Lost to St. Louis 16-6
Could Cal head coach Jeff Tedford be in the 49ers' sights?
