Chargers sign Bhawoh Jue

The San Diego Chargers have made it a habit of not letting many players leave once they see Chargers Park. Thursday was no different as they signed safety Bhawoh Jue to a three-year contract.

Jue is the first signing of the free agency period by the Bolts. Seeking a player who can make a difference patrolling the backlines, Bhawoh Jue became a target. The Chargers believe he is a player on the rise who wasn't used to full capacity with the Green Bay Packers. Jue received interest from as many as seven teams and had other visits planned but decided against pursuing them.

Jue had 34 tackles and an interception last year for the Packers and was the Packers' Rookie of the Year in 2001. He has played both safety positions and cornerback during his five year career with the Packers. A third-round choice in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Penn State, Jue also contributed 11 tackles on special teams.

Financial terms were not immediately available.
