A seventh-round pick from Bowling Green, Scott Mruczkowski, 6-4, 321, started a school record 48 straight games for the Falcons, and didn't allow a sack as a senior.
The Chargers selected Mruczkowski with the 242nd overall choice in the 2005 Draft and mentioned his primary position would be center. Mruczkowski has experience playing each position along the line.
"I actually came to Bowling Green at the beginning of my career as a tackle," Mruczkowski explained. "I played there my first year—I got redshirted, so I practiced there—and after that I got switched over to guard for the 2001-2002 season. I played guard for two years and then for my junior and senior years I was moved to center. The initially wanted to move me to left tackle because we had an injury there, but the guy out there got healthy so they moved me to center."
The seventh round draft pick signed a three-year deal. Financial terms were not immediately available.
The Chargers now have six picks that remain unsigned, including Shawne Merriman who did not attend any workouts with the team since being drafted.
