Chargers roster notes

With the Chargers in Minnesota, roster juggling and movement is part of the equation, especially with cuts, and more importantly the season on the horizon. Among the positions that are seeing some movement are running back, wide receiver, tight end and linebacker.

Darren Sproles will be used more than first thought. Many thought he would only play on special teams but the team is expected to get him in for carries in each game to use his speed as a change of pace to LaDainian Tomlinson.

Eric Parker still has a hold on the No.2 receiver job over Reche Caldwell who looks to be the No.3 receiver.

The coaches are happy with the progress of backup TE Ryan Krause who they believe will continue to push Justin Peelle for the No.2 job.

Ben Leber still is starting at outside linebacker over rookie OLB Shawne Merriman who will get a lot of work in their final two pre-season games.
