Davis, a former first rounder, was traded for Rashaun Woods, another former first round selection.
At 6-foot-2, 202-pounds, Woods is not the burner that the Chargers were believed to have sought but was an All American selection for Oklahoma State where he posted 77 receptions for 1,367 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior after career numbers of 107/1,695/17 the prior season.
Woods spent the last 13 weeks of the 2005 season on Injured-Reserve. He played in 14 games as a rookie with the 49ers.
Davis was in his third season with the Chargers. He appeared in 44 games but was relegated to a bench role late in 2004 when Drayton Florence took over the starting role.
