Wilhelm signs Chargers one-year tender

The San Diego Chargers retained the last of its restricted free agents when linebacker Matt Wilhelm signed the one-year contract tendered by the team.

The 6-4, 245-pound Matt Wilhelm played in all 16 games in 2005. He finished the season with 16 tackles, one sack and one interception.

Wilhelm also placed third on the team with 15 tackles on the special teams.

Wilhelm was originally selected by the Chargers in the fourth-round from Ohio State, 112th overall, in 2003.
