The San Diego Chargers locked up fullback Lorenzo Neal to a three-year extension on Thursday and announced many other moves that will shape the future of the franchise.

Neal, a Pro Bowl fullback, has been instrumental in the running game, paving the way for running back LaDainian Tomlinson to lead the NFL in rushing.
In other news, linebacker Donnie Edwards will obviously be free to leave as a free agent. Wide receiver Az Hakim, offensive tackle Leander Jordan, tight end Ryan Krause and safety Terrence Kiel will also not be back with the club.
A.J. Smith also announced that wide receiver Keenan McCardell will be released. Joining him on the unemployment line are tight end Aaron Shea and linebacker Steve Foley.
