Chargers bring in Shaun McDonald

The San Diego Chargers brought in a wide receiver Shaun McDonald for a visit on Thursday.

While word was rampant about the Chargers interest in Kevin Curtis, the Bolts actually are taking a look at his former teammate, Shaun McDonald.

The 5-foot-10 receiver out of Arizona State caught just 13 passes for 136 yards last year for the St. Louis Rams - a year after grabbing 46 passes.

A heralded prospect coming out of college after he snared 87 passes for 1,405 yards and 13 scores, setting school records for both receptions and receiving yards, McDonald reportedly ran a 4.54 forty and slid to the fourth round in 2003.

McDonald reminds some around San Diego as an Eric Parker type receiver but he has not had the production of Parker and has fit in mostly as a fourth receiver.

Where he fits with the Chargers is unknown, especially since there are injury concerns on several receivers and the team truly needs a number two starter.
