Offensive tackle Vaughn Parker had arm surgery and will miss Sunday's home game against San Francisco. It is unclear on when he is expected to return.
Parker, San Diego's most experienced offensive lineman, had an operation on his left triceps Tuesday, but the team did not confirm it until Wednesday.
Parker in his ninth year was hurt in Sunday's 28-24 loss at St. Louis.
Muddling matters further is offensive tackle Damion McIntosh may not be able to play this weekend either, potentially leaving the Chargers without both of their starting tackles.
Sammy Williams and Ed Ellis will get the bulk of the playing time in the place of Parker and McIntosh.
