The Playoff Chase

Plenty of teams are still in the playoff hunt as we enter week 13 of the season. The Chargers are tied for the lead in their division with Denver and Oakland but with realignment only 2 wild card teams will make the playoffs.

The Chargers face the Broncos in San Diego with serious playoff implications on the line. The Raiders face the Jets and the Chargers hope the Jets are on their side as they will face Denver a week later.

The Raiders have the toughest remaining schedule for the second week in a row. The Baltimore Ravens have the easiest schedule, with Pittsburgh losing the honor of easiest schedule.

Both the division and conference races are tighter than anticipated, with 14 of the 16 teams in the AFC within two games of each other.

This is the week where some teams will drop out of the race. Five games remain in the quest to make it to the playoffs and the chance to play in the Super Bowl in San Diego come January. San Diego beat Oakland but lost to Denver. Denver beat San Diego but lost to Oakland. Oakland beat Denver but lost to San Diego. As you can see there is no real favorite until the dust settles after this week.
