Conway Injury a Mystery

Curtis Conway left the game three week ago with an injury that was termed a "stinger". He was not expected to miss more than the rest of the Miami game, the initial game he got injured in.

Here we stand three weeks later and Curtis Conway is still out after missing both the Denver and the Oakland game.

So what is this mysterious injury that has the Chargers so tight lipped?

The cryptic quotes continue to come regarding the matter.

"There's a limitation of overall rotation and strength in the shoulder, and until he gets that back, it's not likely that he'll be available," said Charger Coach Marty Schottenheimer. "He's indicated to me that it's getting better. We're just going to have to take it day by day."

Previously the quotes have been as follows:

"We're still trying to get him to a point where he's comfortable," coach Marty Schottenheimer said. "We'll have to wait and see."

Asked for specifics about the shoulder injury, Schottenheimer said: "I'm not quite sure, to be honest. All I know is that he dinged it. I don't know what the technical term is."

"When Curtis is comfortable in playing, then we'll put him back on the field," said Schottenheimer.

All this and muscle spasms have added to his appearance on the injury list.

Eric Parker has replaced Conway in the lineup and performed admirably. "I think he's done a very, very good job. I've been pleased with him," said Schottenheimer. "He's made some errors and some things that you would expect of a young player, but by all standards, he's performed quite well."

Conway sits on the injury list again this week, and no one knows any timetable on his return.
