Stephen Cooper: [The coaches] said we are better at defense than what we showed. We knew that because we've got the type of players on our team that are difference-makers and we weren't making any plays in the first half. We came into the second half and Coach said, "Play your technique and play physical," and that's what we did.

SC: In the first half, we definitely [needed to] get it done on third downs. If we had done that, we would have played a sound game on defense and offense -- they can put up points all day and that's what you gotta do. Our special teams played well all game and you've got to take your hat off to them.
SF: You guys were penalized more than twice as often as the Chiefs, 10-4, and you gifted them a total of 83 yards in penalties. Did you feel like you were stacking the deck against yourselves?
SC: That's been the story of our season. There have been a lot of times we have been called for penalties and it's been a negative thing, but at the end of the day, guys sat in there, kept their composure and just played football. It showed in this game -- we played to the last second and we won.
SF: Talk about the end of the game. The offense scored two touchdowns in a span of 40 seconds, yet the comeback almost went for naught as the Chiefs attempted a game-winning field goal. What were you thinking during that crazy exchange?
SC: Rally up and let's go. We [had] a chance to win the game and by doing so Tony Gonzalez made a good catch that gave them a chance to kick a field goal. Luckily, the Football Gods were on our side and the ball went left.
