Post Game Notes

Chargers kicker Steve Christie scored the first points of the game by hitting a 39-yard field goal in the first quarter. Christie played for the Bills from 1992-00. He is the franchise's all-time leader in points and field goals and won the last Bill-Bolts game with a field goal in overtime for Buffalo.

Doug Flutie (3-11, 64 yards) saw his first action of the year, entering the game with 8:23 remaining in the fourth quarter and drove San Diego 53 yards to set up a 53-yard field goal by Steve Christie that tied the game at 13-13. Flutie connected with Curtis Conway 47 yards downfield on his first snap of the season.

"I felt like in that scenario and that situation, (Flutie) would give us an opportunity to make some plays by his movement," Coach Marty Schottenheimer said.

Drew Brees was the victim of dropped passes all day long. Josh Norman dropped a sure first down on the first drive of the day, Reche Caldwell dropped another later in the game and Eric Parker slowed down on a deep ball that he could have caught, but thought the defender would knock it down and pulled up.

"It was a lack of concentration, but that's part of the game. But we dropped them at crucial situations," said Caldwell.

Quentin Jammer left the game with a left knee injury in the first half but returned to play in the second half.

The Chargers defense held Bledsoe to just 107 yards passing. Bledsoe was 11-33 on the day.

The Chargers committed 9 penalties for 121 yards including four pass interference penalties totaling 86 yards.

On his first completion, a 7-yard pass to Dave Moore, Drew Bledsoe set a new franchise record for passing yards in a season, surpassing Jim Kelly's mark of 3,840 yards (1991).

Ronney Jenkins became the team's all-time kick returner, passing Andre Coleman. Jenkins has 3,997 yards.

Mike Hollis became the sixth player in Buffalo history to post a 100-point season when he kicked a 42-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Travis Henry topped 100-yards rushing for the sixth time this season. Only O.J. Simpson and Thurman Thomas have recorded more 100-yard rushing games during a single season for the Bills. He also scored his 12th and 13th touchdowns of the season second only to OJ Simpson's 16.

Buffalo Bills cornerback Jason Bostic (right knee) was carted off the field during Sunday's game.
