The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms with the following 18 undrafted free agents:

San Diego deployed the strategy of adding multiple players from the same schools, which helps with the assimilation process. Beckwith is friends with seventh-round pick Demetrius Byrd, Smith with fourth-round pick Tyronne Green, and Sperry with fourth-round pick Gartrell Johnson.

The Chargers also released two recent draft picks: CB DeJuan Tribble, a sixth-round pick in the 2008 draft, and TE Scott Chandler, a fourth-round pick in 2007.

The release of Tribble makes room for CB Brandon Hughes, whom the Chargers selected in the fifth round of this year's draft. Chandler, who spent last season on IR, was made expendable after the team picked up H-back Kris Wilson last September.

The Chargers have now cut ties with three recent draft picks, as 2007 third-round pick Anthony Waters was released earlier in the offseason.
